'Black Panther: Wakanda Forever' to be shown in French cinemas 2022 Much ado about nothing. The company says "the current media chronology is not adapted to the behavior and expectations of the spectators, is counterproductive and exposes all producers and artists to an increased risk of piracy. For all these reasons, we share the opinion of the majority of the players in our sector, who agree that it must be completely revised".
Meetings are planned by the National Center for Cinema in February 2023 to work on a possible new definition of the media chronology, which could allow films to be released more quickly on TV and streaming platforms after their theatrical releases. In the meantime, Disney will continue to decide on the release strategy on a case-by-case basis.
